Description
Supports and practices the philosophy, objectives and standards of the nursing department, and participates in the revision of these as necessary to ensure that quality care is delivered to all residents.
Coordinates interdisciplinary nary resident care management efforts.
Ensures effective and deficient organization and staffing of the nursing
Ensures that nursing interventions meet the personal, physical and cognitive needs of each resident, as well as maximize his/ her self-care capabilities, identity, independence, choice and opportunity for social
Monitors the outcomes of nursing service activity by evaluating the performance of the nursing staff.
Ensures compliance with facility and regulatory agency standards, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations.
Coordinates facility committees as necessary and appropriate.
Monitors the effective and efficient use of budgeted resources (i.e. personnel, supplies, equipment)
Ensures a safe and sanitary environment for residents, employees and
Actively maintains cohesive public and professional relationships with residents, families, physicians and the community.
Assumes full responsibility for the operation and management of the facility in the temporary absence of the Executive Director, or as directed by the Executive Director. In the absence if the ED, the DON is appointed to make administrative decisions.
Participates in the development of policies and procedures that support nursing service objectives.
Ensures the philosophy, objectives and standards of the nursing department are an integral part of the orientation and education of nursing service personnel.
Incorporates nursing philosophy, standards and objectives into the evaluation process for staff and nursing services.

- This position pays $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 based on experience*

Standard Responsibilities
- Supports the facility.
- Is knowledgeable of patient/ resident rights and promotes an atmosphere which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all residents in a safe, secure environment.
- Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedure and programs for;
- Safety, including precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/ disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.
- Confidentiality and privacy of all data, including patient/ resident, employee
- Compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Compliance with and enforcement of current law and policy to provide a work environment free from harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
- Supports and participates in common teamwork:

- Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.
