Directly Reports To: Jason Golden, Forestar Regional Director

Directly Manages: 1099 Instructors, and Sports Courts Professionals

Position Type: Full Time Salary Exempt

The Director of Fitness and Sports Courts is responsible for implementing standards of exercise, wellness, and health in the community and overseeing accurate documentation concerning programming and participation in fitness and sports courts programming. This position designs and implements an all-inclusive wellness program that addresses the components of physical fitness and health related to the community.

Essential Position Functions

  • Responsible for the daily operations, planning, and programming of the fitness and sports courts facilities.
  • Develop and oversee departmental policies, procedures, and budget management.
  • Maintains accurate fitness and sports courts maintenance procedures and preventative maintenance schedules. Ensures repairs are resolved efficiently.
  • Monitor inventory, materials, and equipment for all fitness and sports courts facilities.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate departmental employees and independent contractors.
  • Provide leadership and support for the teams’ continuous improvement and ensure staff is knowledgeable on the services, products, and programs offered.
  • Responsible for developing, tracking, and reporting departmental KPI’s.
  • Conduct orientation, assessments, and exercise prescriptions for residents.
  • Lead classes and private training, social events, and workshops for fitness and sports courts.
  • Stay apprised of industry knowledge and trends to share with residents and for operational forecasting.
  • Collaborate with other departments to create and integrate fitness and sports courts programming and maintain good communication skills with residents about activities.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential records, staff certifications, and medical information.

Qualifications

  • Club and/or hospitality industry experience (resort-style facilities) preferred.
  • RSPTA/USPTR Tennis and Pickleball Certified
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
  • Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and expertise in individual and group training protocols and standards; current fitness trends, and anatomy/physiology.
  • Experience in managing and achieving a budget.
  • Experience in developing and delivering educational workshops and seminars.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; great listening skills.
  • Comfortable with striking up conversations with residents, with approaching residents at the club, with providing advice and assistance, with calling residents on the phone, and with resolving complaints.
  • Excellent customer service and people skills. Friendly, outgoing, energetic, enthusiastic, positive, and motivational.
  • Honest, ethical, principled, and trustworthy.
  • Creative and resourceful.
  • Strong leadership skills. Calm under fire; maintains composure.
  • Genuine, sincere interest in helping and developing others.

Working Conditions

  • Must be in excellent physical condition and perform activities such as bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, lifting, and grasping for extended periods of time.
