General Description of Role

 

The role of the Director National Construction Services is to lead, direct, and grow the operations of construction across the RealManage family of brands. In addition, is responsible for successfully identifying and implementing the Company's sales and marketing strategies. This position works closely with the President of Vendor Services to develop and meet departmental goals.

 

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

 

Departmental Oversight for construction needs across all brands

 

  • Lead the Company's operations and direct reports while maintaining a high-level strategic perspective.
  • Maintain and adapt as needed the operational systems and "Best Practices" to guarantee the Company's well being.
  • Write and Review estimates in preparation of client or insurance carrier approval.
  • Review purchasing estimates and select suppliers that best meet the Company's objectives.
  • Demonstrate consistent support across all RealManage/Hammersmith companies.

 

Sales and Marketing

 

  • Develop and represent the Company's brand professionally and with integrity.
  • Implement sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue and meet budgetary and personal targets.
  • Negotiate contracts including sub-contractors that are fair and in the best interest of the Company.
  • Attend client meetings as necessary to educate, give presentations and close contracts.
  • Develop new pipelines. Grow and maintain current pipelines.
  • Conduct client check-ins or "pop-bys" to continue to build relationships.
  • Hire and direct the sales team (if applicable).
  • Attend networking events.
  • Create opportunities through relationships both short and long term.
  • Most of our clients are HOA’s and Commercial building owners/investors. Experience working with Boards, commercial property owners, and property managers is required.
  • Develop, Grow and Maintain a Maintenance division of the company (if applicable).
  • Create marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, swag, etc

 

Project Management

  • Oversee all project managers.
  • Oversee large projects from inception to completion.
  • Work with Operations Manager and PM on Pre-Construction for each large project. Other smaller projects may require some assistance as needed.
  • Allocate resources for all active projects.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to verify that workmanship and materials meet Company standards.
  • Address escalated incidents as needed.
  • Adept writing of reports for clients on projects, site surveys and reserve studies.

 

Team Building and Leadership Functions

  • Foster a positive culture within the department. Mentor staff to grow and develop into successful members of the team.
  • Maintain the right people in the right positions to maximize productivity.
  • Set expectations and hold team members accountable to maintain a satisfying and cohesive work environment.
  • Setup and attend team building events.
  • Attend department head meetings, manager meetings or other various requested meetings.

 

Relationship Building

  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting internal and external client relationships.
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting relationships with business partners and sub-contractors.
  • Facilitate resolution of issues, conflicts and/or incidents in timely and careful fashion. Do what is right. Coach what is right.
  • Identify and implement solutions to meet all our clients’ needs.
  • Honesty is coveted even when it is not easy. Stay the course.

 

Insurance Claims

  • Strong knowledge of the claims process and how to navigate it from start to finish.
  • Conduct inspections at all stages of a claim.
  • Complete forensic analysis of all types of roofing systems to ensure no damages including potential collateral damages.
  • Work with adjusters, engineers and consultants in a professional manner including negotiation of the potential scope of work and pricing within the allowed realm of a general contractor. We are not public adjusters.
  • Understand the nuances of the financial side of insurance restoration projects

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze and report on financial and operational results.
  • Provide support and consultation to other Real Manage / Hammersmith Companies as requested.
  • Monitor hail reports and act quickly.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain all company assets including but not limited to trucks, flatbeds, metal breaks, shop equipment

  • Must be well versed in roofing materials, installation, the construction industry in general including local codes & requirements and processes. Must also stay current on the industry's direction, legislation and technology.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit and use hands. Some ladder climbing to rooftops both steep and low-slope is required. This would be done while conducting forensic inspections of construction materials specifically roofing materials.

 

Required Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Construction Management, or related field. Qualifying experience in the roofing/construction industry can be considered in lieu of degree.
  • License or certification, such as GC, PMP or equivalent. Supervisors license is a big plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible managerial and administrative experience in the construction and roofing field, 5 years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
  • OSHA Certifications and experience with project site safety protocols.

 

Pay and Benefits

 

$120,000 to $140,000, depending on education and experience.
