The ideal candidate for this role should possess a high work ethic, excellent communication skills, knowledge of labor regulations and HR practices, strategic thinking abilities, strong organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. The exceptional HR director should follow HR processes that support business growth, improve morale and employee retention, enhance safety and wellness, strengthen relations between staff and employees, manage job satisfaction and promote the organization's values.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced HR director in San Diego, CA with outstanding people skills to manage all aspects of human capital and ensure that our human resources programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned to overall business objectives in the assigned market.

Duties For The HR Director Will Include

  • Address employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances in a fair and compassionate manner.
  • Support employee development
  • Counsel managers/supervisors regarding staff performance, personnel practices, policies, and employment laws
  • Execute onboarding and offboarding procedures
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Partner with leaders to improve relationships, build morale and increase productivity/retention
  • Provide recommendations regarding new hires, promotions, and transfers
  • Perform other tasks/projects as assigned by the leadership team
