Job Description
Purpose
The Corporate Accounting, Acquisitions Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with post-close accounting of acquisitions, as well as preparing US GAAP footnotes for the consolidated audited financials, and assisting with month-end close and certain balance sheet reconciliations. This includes, but is not limited to, preparing acquisition and elimination journal entries, loading trial balances into the corporate GL system, and serving as a point of contact for the branches.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting
- Assisting with all post-closing accounting and activities of acquisitions, such as, prepares or coordinates with consultants on the purchase price allocation, validates true-up calculation, validates earn-out or claw-back calculations, ensures proper recording of the monthly financial results of acquired entities and works with management team the monthly financial budget of acquired entities.
- Serve as a G/L point of contact for branch/non-integrated service company presidents and Home Office department leaders.
- Assisting with preparation of annual audit footnotes in compliance with US GAAP
- Will perform general accounting, and other related duties in the daily administration of accounting department.
- Assist with auditors and provide supporting documentation as needed.
- Preparing certain balance sheet reconciliations
Requirements
Education / Work Experience
- This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
- 1-3 years experience in accounting is required
- Public accounting experience preferred
- CPA preferred
Skills / Other Requirements
- Microsoft Dynamics D365 core applications experience a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel including formula creation, macros, and data filtering/sorting.
- Must be able to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
- Customer orientated mindset
- Ability to problem solve for efficient solutions in a concise manner.
- Strong skills in written and verbal communication.
- Knowledge of operational accounting, financial requirements, accounting requirements, and business management practices.
