Job Description

Sentry Management, Inc. a leader in the Community Association industry has an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time Lifestyle Director at one of our Associations in Los Lunas, NM.

Job Summary: Facilitates and helps implement the community’s social and recreational activities under the direction of the Social & Recreational Committee and the Community Manager. This person is not tasked with necessarily “creating” social and recreational events. This person also assists Charter Clubs and Special Interest groups with their activities as needed. The Social & Recreational Committee is primarily responsible for determining what social and recreational events will take place.

Reports to: District Manager, Sentry Management

Hours - Must be flexible - Some Weekends / 29 hours per week

Job Responsibilities

General

  • Sets up, decorates, and cleans up all activities that are held in the clubhouse areas.
  • Budgets, plans and coordinates the use of funds within budget, and keeps accurate records, money spent as well as recording moneys received from residents, PayPal and cash transactions. All purchases need to be approved by the Community Manager prior to purchase. Reports are turned into Community Manager prior to distribution.
  • Meets with Community Manager weekly to ensure full implementation and understanding of activities and planned events.
  • Maintains an updated Lifestyle events and activities sign-up sheet at the front desk
  • Recruits and organize resident volunteers
  • Encourage residents to e-register online for Lifestyle events and activities
  • Assist residents with all queries related to Lifestyle events and activities online e-registration
  • Solicit sponsorship for newsletter, events and other activities as required to supplement Lifestyle expenditures
  • Conducts a Lifestyle survey on a bi-year basis
  • Promote activities by use of flyers, posters, email and other print material
  • Attend all off property Lifestyle functions that are planned with residents, this includes extended hours on weekdays and weekends.
  • Prepare Community Newsletter with input from Community Manager, Board of Directors and Homeowners. Will include a letter from the Community Manager and Lifestyle Director.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrate ownership and sense of urgency in resolving issues in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint , MS Office Suite, MS Publisher and graphics such as Photoshop
  • Intermediate knowledge of websites and social media marketing
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to effectively multi-task in order to handle multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment, willing to pitch-in as needed
  • Excellent communications skills, including verbal, written and platform speaking
  • As the preparation and implementation of activities may take place outdoors, candidates must also be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Have a general working knowledge and understanding of fitness equipment and exercise materials
  • Be energetic, demonstrate positive attitude and good listening skills
  • Be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with interruptions and changes while remaining focused
  • Minimum 3 years experience in similar field or in active adult recreation
  • Minimum 3 years experience in budget development, marketing/advertising

Additional Requirements

  • Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, moving objects that can weigh up to 50lbs.
  • Capable of working extended hours, evening, weekends and holidays
  • Must be aware of safety requirements and potential hazards in and surrounding the amenity center and event venues, paying special attention to the safety of the residents and their guests.
  • Be able to interact with all individuals in a congenial manner, be mentally alert, detail orientated, and with good reasoning skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively and cheerfully in an environment that may be stressful due to adversarial situations resulting from the proper performance of duties.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
