Job Description

A Code Enforcement Specialist plays an active role in achieving long-term customer satisfaction in the context of Community Association relationships. Specific responsibilities will vary with

designated communities and may include but are not limited to: Inspecting properties for

maintenance, landscaping, compliance with property standards including aesthetics, conformity and accurately recording findings.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Notify responsible parties of code issues given in writing, by phone, in person and electronically.
  • Respond to and investigate allegations of violations of codes to determine validity of complaints and the appropriate course of action to mitigate issues.
  • Investigate and enforce property codes within boundaries.
  • Schedule and perform systematic property maintenance inspections to ensure compliance with property codes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.

Must have a vehicle and valid State driver’s license.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance requirements, (documentation, safety, required reporting, regulations, etc.)
  • Knowledge of architectural plans and/or drawings.
  • Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques.
  • Professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.). Professional customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented and a team player.
  • Time management and time critical prioritization skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk to conduct on site property inspections, stand and reach above shoulders with hands and arms in order to file a variety of documents; use hands and fingers to input data to information system; and talk or hear in order to gather and provide information on departmental processes. The employee is often required to sit in order to process information and conduct data entry activities. Travel to and from communities and office.

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments.
