LIFESTYLE DIRECTOR

Duties And Responsibilities

The term “Lifestyle Director” shall mean a full-time employee that plays an instrumental role in shaping the social and recreational landscape of communities, focusing on enhancing the quality of life for residents through the development and implementation of diverse programs and events. This position requires a unique blend of creativity, organizational skills, and an understanding of community dynamics to successfully cater to the varied interests and needs of the community members. By fostering a vibrant, engaging, and inclusive environment, the Lifestyle Director helps to build a sense of belonging and community spirit among residents, ensuring that the community remains a dynamic and attractive place to live. Through careful planning and execution of activities ranging from social gatherings to health and wellness programs, the Lifestyle Director contributes to the overall well-being and satisfaction of the community, making it a more enjoyable place for everyone. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Lifestyle Director Job Duties

Plan, organize, and execute a diverse range of community events and activities tailored to the interests and demographics of the Community, ensuring inclusivity and engagement. Coordinate activities with the Association’s committees and/or clubs. 
Develop and manage the annual budget for lifestyle programming, including negotiating with vendors and securing sponsorships to enhance event offerings without exceeding financial constraints. Ensure all planned lifestyle events meet all legal requirements and local government laws and ordinances. 
Foster and maintain relationships with Association members, gathering feedback on past events and suggestions for future programming to ensure alignment with Community interests. 
Collaborate with marketing teams to promote events and activities, utilizing social media, community newsletters, and other communication channels to maximize participation. 
Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers and staff involved in the execution of lifestyle programming, ensuring they are equipped and motivated to provide exceptional experiences for Community members. 
Design and implement wellness programs that promote healthy living among Community members, including fitness classes, nutritional workshops, and mental health seminars. Maintain updated fitness calendar on Community website. Monitor activities in the Fitness Center. Oversee the fitness trainers and instructors. Validate credentials of all fitness trainers. 
Oversee the maintenance and scheduling of Association facilities used for events and activities, ensuring spaces are prepared, safe, and available to meet programming needs. Ensure that all fitness equipment is in proper working order and repaired in a timely manner. Maintain repair records to assist in determining whether equipment has reached its useful life, or that repairs are exceeding the cost of the equipment. 
Evaluate the success of lifestyle programming through surveys and attendance data, adjusting as necessary to continuously improve the quality and appeal of events and activities. 
Assist with the publication of the Waterfall Magazine, when needed. This magazine is published every other month, and contains articles from the CLL Board, Community Manager, and various committees and clubs. 
Coordinate the operation of a reservation and ticket purchase system for lifestyle events and functions. 
Coordinate and electronically maintain the scheduled use of the Clubhouse areas and amenities. 
Report to the CLL Board monthly on lifestyle annual budget, all scheduled activities, events, social functions, and attendance. 

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications

Major in recreation, hospitality, marketing, event planning, or communication fields preferred. 
College level courses in business or hospitality preferred. 
Possess general knowledge of skills defined within content of job description along with information required with respect to computer systems and software, registration processes, policies and procedures, equipment, material and products, etc. 
Possesses strong public speaking skills. 
Highly effective interpersonal skills, problem solving abilities, and advances communication skills. 
Proficient computer skills mandatory in Publisher, Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to learn new software programs. 
Three (3) to five (5) years of related work experience with HOA’s and/or active adult programming. 
Pays attention to detail. 
Effective written and verbal communication skills. 
Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required. 
Experienced in budgetary development and management. 

Physical Requirements

Physical demands may include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. 
Standing, sitting, walking, and climbing may be required. 
The employee may be required to work at a computer and speak on the phone for extended periods of time. 
Ability to work extended/flexible hours and weekends and be on call as needed. 
Must possess a valid driver's license. 

Schedule (from Contract)

Hours of operation: Weekdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, except holidays and paid time off. “Holidays” are defined herein as being New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and one (1) Floating Holiday each year. In the event the holiday falls on a Saturday, it shall be celebrated on Friday. In the event the holiday falls on a Sunday, it shall be celebrated on Monday.
