Associa Chicagoland is seeking a Client Accounting Director in our Schaumburg office to provide leadership to the accounting department and assist in all aspects of association accounting processes. The Client Accounting Director will also work directly with the leadership team to help guide the leadership team and other departments/divisions/branches by applying observations and recommendations to their financial operations. Associa Chicagoland is seeking a Client Accounting Director in our Schaumburg office to provide leadership to the accounting department and assist in all aspects of association accounting processes. The Client Accounting Director will also work directly with the leadership team to help guide the leadership team and other departments/divisions/branches by applying observations and recommendations to their financial operations. This position is responsible for hiring, training, and coaching employees and enforcing corporate company policies, rules, and procedures. The
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversee client accounting staff and assist in all aspects of Association accounting processes.
- Manage the daily activities of the accounting department.
- Responsible for supervision and performance accountants including performance reviews, disciplinary action and hiring.
- Assisting in all aspects ofaccounting processes which includes the timely and accurate maintenance of daily financial activity, cash management, general ledger activity, and reviewing monthly financial statements for associations.
- Support community Association Manager and Association Board of Directors as requested.
- Work with supporting departments (A/R, A/P, Data, Tax and Investment teams) on issue resolution.
- Collect and provide information for audit inquiries and give assistance to auditors.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to financial management, budget and accounting.
- Oversee the posting and maintenance of general ledger accounts, payroll transactions, accounts payable and general ledger adjustments.
- Provide financial analysis statements including monthly balance sheets, income statements, cash flows statements, and actual to budget and last year variance analysis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures (US GAAP) at an expert level.
- Knowledge of budget development and implementation.
- Knowledge of an Accounting Shared Services Center environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) at a proficient level.
- Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques at an expert level.
- Professional customer service skills.
- Project management at a proficient level.
- Professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.).
- Self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented and a team player.
- Time management and time critical prioritization skills.
- Bachelors Degree Required
- 7 – 10 years of directly related or closely related experience
- 5 – 7 years of Management and/or Supervisory experience
