Job Description
Job Summary
The Landscape Manager generally works out in the field directly with the contracted landscape company who maintains the common grounds and irrigation for common areas.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Field homeowner questions dealing with landscape and irrigation of the common areas
- Landscape spot inspections
- Regional knowledge of plants/landscape materials suited to the Katy area
- Prepare Request for proposals and bid spec sheets
- Solicit Contractors for recommended projects and present to the Board of Directors
- Manage contracts and issue repair or maintenance work orders related to trees, shrubs, turf, irrigation, drainage and seasonal color
- Coordinate with landscape contractors for turf care, plant and shrub replacement, trimming and follow through of contract per HOA and LMA guidelines
- Manage alerts to ensure proper irrigation levels and efficient use of water.
- Verify and issue work orders for tree trimming and removal of dead trees in HOA and LMA areas
- Track water usage month-to-month, budget vs. actual and current year vs. prior year comparisons
- Recommend water saving opportunities and monitor weather data monthly to substantiate water usage
- Manage the reuse system to ensure full utilization and address concerns
- Commit to continuing education courses/seminars to stay up to date on industry knowledge of landscaping, tree enhancement, water conservation and re-use opportunities
- Attend Various Meetings: CLMA, CRPA, Master Mud, MUD 1, MUD 12, NRC, Govt Affairs
- Maintain cost control budget management and participate in the Annual budget process
Requirements
Education Requirements
- 4 Year Degree in Horticultural/Botany/Agronomy/ Plant Science/Wildlife or similar
- 8 years experience in Large Scale or Commercial Landscape Management
- Minimum 3 years of Calsense central controller experience or Toro site pro, Rainbow Maxicom multi- site irrigation central control system or similar control systems.
- Basic knowledge of Weathermatic, and Rainbird Blue tooth irrigation systems
- Texas licensed Irrigator or ability to obtain license with in the first year of employment
