Action is seeking a full-time Chief Building Engineer to join our Century Plaza North Tower team in Century City.

Compensation: $ 115,000 - $120,000K annually

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

What You’ll Do (Job Duties)

Directly supervising the onsite engineering and maintenance team involves responsibilities such as hiring, training, and managing performance. This role also includes managing, maintaining, and repairing all building systems, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and emergency systems. Additionally, it requires supervising and scheduling vendors to ensure they comply with performance standards. Regular inspections of all common areas must be conducted, with documentation of findings and follow-ups. The development and management of preventative maintenance programs and work order logs are key aspects of the position. Assisting in the creation of RFPs, conducting bid analysis, and overseeing capital improvement projects are also critical duties. Ensuring safety compliance, obtaining necessary permits, and coordinating equipment inspections are essential for the role. Prompt responses to emergencies and homeowner inquiries, along with resolving maintenance issues, are expected. Maintaining an inventory of tools and supplies, as well as preparedness for emergency responses to events such as floods, fires, power outages, earthquakes, and other disasters, is crucial. Finally, participation in budget planning and monitoring maintenance expenditures is an important part of this position.

Who You Are (Skills/Experience)

Minimum of 7 years of Building Engineering experience. Residential property management experience preferred.

At least 3 years of experience directly supervising an onsite maintenance and engineering team.

Proficient in mechanical diagnostics, repair, and building control systems.

Strong organizational, communication, and vendor management skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and internet applications.

Ability to interpret instructions, define problems, and implement solutions effectively.

Availability to respond to emergencies 24/7

Certifications/Licenses Required

High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.

HVAC Certification.

EPA/608 License.

Fire Pump Certificate preferred.

Fire Life Safety Director Certificate preferred.
