Job Description
Job Title: Café Attendant
Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager
Location: La Quinta, CA
JOB SUMMARY: Provide a high level of customer service and quality food options to the customers of the Café.
Schedule: Part-Time - schedule mid shifts, and open weekend availability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned.
- Provide a high level of customer service and quality work performance
- Be responsive to customers' needs to ensure exceptional hospitality to our customers.
- Maintain cleanliness standards in keeping the Café immaculately clean and sanitary.
- Have a sense of urgency and strive to exceed expectations.
- Assist in other food preparations ( hot or cold ) for restaurants or events as needed.
- Create new ideas for weekly/daily specials.
- Prepare and serve high quality and deliciously tasting foods.
- Follow all standards required by the Health Department, ABC and ensure that all State and County regulations are followed.
- Open and closer the Café register daily -- maintaining the utmost integrity and accuracy.
- Ensure accuracy of the revenue reports / cash handling.
- Cater luncheons to include creating menu and ordering food.
- Ensure inventory levels and order inventory when needed (food and non-food inventory)
- Manage inventory monthly to include liquor, food, and non-food.
- Assist with activities and events.
- Bartend at activities and event.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Must be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to accurately proofread documents.
- Ability to multi task effectively and efficiently with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to problem solve and offer viable solutions to problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees, clients and other stakeholders.
- Must be able to handle pressure as related to the job.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year experience in a food and beverage kitchen environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong math skills to be applied in the job duties.
- Ability to apply common sense and carry out instructions.
- Working knowledge of MS Office suite -- including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Strong attention to details.
- Self-motivated.
- Organized and Detail Oriented.
