Job Description
Position Summary
The Business Development Manager will lead and produce strategic sales initiatives in a goal-established environment. They will work closely with operational Executives and the Marketing Department on lead generation, pipeline progression, sales activities, and business development. The role requires superior written and verbal communication skills, planning and the ability to effectively collaborate with internal departments to achieve revenue goals. All services of the Director of Business Development are under the direct supervision of Worth Ross Management Company, Inc (WRMC).
The Business Development Manager also provides exemplary service in a manner consistent with the values and mission of WRMC. He or She ensures that business is conducted in accordance with company objectives and facilitates solutions to problems between communities and internal support staff, guided by precedent and working within the limits of established policies.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (May include some or all the following as applicable)
- Drive new business development efforts by identifying opportunities, cultivating relationships, and managing requests for proposal (RFP) inquires.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients through marketing and retention initiatives.
- Coordinate and participate in the strategy of sales presentations – includes internal preparation of materials, coordination of scheduling and pre/post strategy meetings.
- Identify new account targets and work with transition team to ensure contractual objectives are met.
- Develop and execute a sales strategy that aligns with company goals and initiatives.
- Manage sales process through utilization of CRM (Salesforce) - Ensure that all key contact information, leads, and opportunities are stored, managed and up to date.
- Seek innovative ways to engage current and prospective clients through collaborative efforts with internal departments and vendor relationships.
- Supports various company activities, such as cross-marketing, community events and vendor relationships.
- Manage sales pipeline progression across assigned markets.
- Conduct market research on opportunistic growth areas, competitive markets, and industry trends.
- Attending sales and marketing training classes and industry functions where applicable.
Education/Training/Certifications/Licenses
High School Diploma required, bachelor’s degree in business or related filed preferred.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills
A minimum of three (3) years of sales experience in a service-related industry is required. Business development and/or operational experience in association management is preferred. Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to help create effective customer-focused relationships with all levels within the organization. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized, people-oriented individual. Able to work under tight deadlines and use time effectively based on key priorities. Coaching and training abilities and an understanding of accounting principles are desired.
Computer Literacy
Salesforce and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is preferred. Intermediate to advanced command of computer hardware/software is required; specifically, proficient in the knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including but not limited to; Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Language Requirements
English is required. Multiple language fluency is desirable.
Travel and Availability Requirements
Required to travel within the state of Texas on an as-needed basis. Ability to work extended hours and weekends based on project requirements. Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner, 24-7.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. Work in an upright standing or sitting position for long periods of time will fluctuate day by day. Occasional handling, grasping, and lifting of objects and packages. Extensive use of fingers for typing and visual use of the computer monitor. Communicate, receive, and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word. Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building, as required, to meet the job functions.

Working Conditions
The majority of work will be completed indoors in a temperature-controlled environment with little to moderate noise levels. Depending on the community, may regularly be required to walk/work outdoors to perform inspections, regular tours, or attend to other property needs.
