Summary

If you like helping our residents get their day started with a good cup of coffee, then this role is for you! Crafting drinks, serving food in a café environment. Of course, making sure all food and safety regulations are met.

The Bartender/Bar Back will greet each guest with a warm smile and welcome as guests enter and a thank you as guests leave; suggest and explain the differences between items and educates guests about brewing methods; follows register policies; adhere to all food safety regulations and quality controls complying with Department of Health guidelines and community policies; follow inventory stocking and recording guidelines; engage in friendly conversations with guests; provide personalized service and uses guest's name.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Welcoming customers, reading, listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders
  • Ensure timely delivery and presentation of food “pizza and chips and salsa” and beverages to guests
  • Informing customers about new beverages and specials and suggesting additional menu items to complement a guest's meal
  • Impeccable customer service and social perceptiveness; ensuring guests' complete satisfaction and exceeding their expectations
  • Maintaining complete knowledge of Restaurant's food and beverage preparation
  • Total Guest check in a timely and accurate manner
  • Entering and completing customers' orders on computer system; accepting different types of payment
  • Verifying guests’ identification to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages
  • Ability to enforce company policies regarding the consumption of alcohol
  • Observing guests' behavior once they have consumed alcoholic beverages, counting number of drinks served, and offering a taxi if they feel they should not drive; asking a manager for help with disorderly customers as needed
  • Prepare shift audit at end of shift
  • Serving customers as determined by management
  • Selling alcohol and food items
  • Maintaining specific side-work and ensuring the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant
  • Clearing tables
  • Reporting to work in a neat and clean uniform; maintaining well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by company policy
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness of workspace
  • Serve guests in a friendly manner to encourage repeat patronage
  • Timely filing of paperwork
  • Maintain condiments and restock station throughout shift and at end of shift
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High-School Graduate or equivalent or related experience
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Minimum 1 year experience as bartender
  • Ability to pass Responsible Service of Alcohol Test with a score of 90% or better
  • State alcohol server license and Riverside County food handler's card required
  • Ability to work effectively with all personality types
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions independently
  • Basic computer skills (Square)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Multi-task oriented
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
  • Must be able to promote the sale of food and beverage items

Availability

Regular business hours and after regular business hours, as necessary.
