Who we are looking for:

Associate Instructional Designer

Join us in accelerating team member and customer expertise by curating, maintaining, and evolving content for the Training and Enablement team. The ideal candidate has a high standard of excellence in both written and visual content with experience in training methodologies. They are an above-average communicator who can effectively prioritize the work to be done among competing priorities.

What You’ll Do:

Improve the effectiveness of the New Hire program in partnership with Internal Training Managers (ITM) by delivering clear and accurate content.

  • Manage the creation and evolution of training slide decks for all 23 training days.
  • Review and refresh the daily knowledge checks and recaps as new features are released.
  • Review and refresh the new hire proficiency check and cumulative question bank as new features are released.
  • Update practice task “how-tos” in APM Academy as new features are released to align with product changes and updates.
  • Own at least 2 new hire training sessions per training round.
  • Maintain current content to foster a strong backend and frontend user experience in APM Academy.
  • Design graphics and presentations that are visually interesting, yet clear for the learner.
  • Within the first year, implement the Caveon assessment platform and a supporting structure of test questions that is well organized and easy to manage.

Refine the Live Training program offering alongside Sr. Training Programs Manager maximizing the reach and impact of the content delivered to our customers.

  • Serve as a backup to the Sr. Training Programs Manager for customer live training and webinar processes.
  • Refresh slides used for the live training program by the end of Q2 2023.
  • Refresh slides for the live training program as branding and product updates are made to APM.

Curate content for Client Services’ professional development offerings.

  • Launch the Services philosophy course by the end of Q2 in coordination with the Sr. Manager, Training & Enablement.
  • Track completion rates of the Services philosophy course for all members of Client Services and Customer Success & Growth teams.
  • Set up a process for feedback from leaders and team members on their experiences completing the Services philosophy course.
  • In coordination with the Sr. Manager, Training & Enablement maintain the professional development slide deck offering list and build out the content for any new professional development opportunities.
  • Assist in developing the Product Expert recurring training session content including decks, videos, test questions, and help articles.
  • Review and refresh the Product Expert question bank in coordination with the Product Expert Program Manager at least quarterly as updates are made to APM.
  • Build out necessary content including training decks, APM Academy courses and other content for the Customer Certification program.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years in a content development role
  • 2+ years at a SaaS company preferred
  • Experience working in AppFolio Property Manager preferred
  • Rapid eLearning technology experience
  • Photoshop or InDesign experience
  • Video content creation and editing experience
  • HTML or CSS experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Excellent Communication; speaks and writes articulately without being overly verbose or talkative; maintains this standard in all forms of communication - writing, speaking, and presentations
  • Creative thinker with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Excellent organization and time management
  • Strong listening skills; lets others speak and seeks to understand their viewpoints
  • Exhibits passion and excitement over work; has a can-do attitude
  • Adapts quickly to changing priorities and conditions; copes effectively with complexity and change
