Job Description

Rancho La Quinta Country Club is looking for energetic, enthusiastic Assistant Golf Professionals.The Assistant Golf Professional will assist the Director of Golf and Head Professional in the management of day to day golf operations. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to excellent customer service, meeting and exceeding member and guest needs on a daily basis. Duties will include but are not limited to golf shop hours, golf instruction, tournament operations, and on course player assistance. The desired candidate has teaching experience in both individual and group setting. An enthusiastic individual who is a team player with exceptional organization and communication skills is a must.

Rancho La Quinta Country Club is a 36 hole, high-end, private facility located in La Quinta, CA. Two different style courses means golf members experience an enjoyable variety without ever leaving the club. Our championship links include a traditional course by the highly acclaimed Robert Trent Jones Jr. and a second, more modern layout by former U.S. Open Champion Jerry Pate. Rancho La Quinta is a former host of the PGA Tour's popular Skins Game. In addition to spectacular golf, these courses treat players to dramatic water features, million-dollar mountain views and the striking beauty of the deep emerald turf against the ever-changing tapestry of desert colors. The abundance of golf amenities enables us to accommodate players of all skill levels and ages. Each course offers eight different tee combinations ranging from 7063 yards down to 5183 yards.

The driving range and short game area present opportunities to hone your skills. The driving range has six target greens, allowing players to practice all the demanding shots experienced on the course. The facility also provides a chipping green and three putting greens, generous enough in size to host all players. Approximately 380 of our residents are golf members who participate in a very active club with men's, women’s, and couples' events throughout the season.

Requirements

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assists golf professional in instructing and with merchandising, on-course, cart, and personnel management responsibilities.
• Maintains pro shop inventory control system.
• Assist members by providing and interpreting policies, rules, and regulations.
• Conducts golf clinics.
• Maintains handicap records.
• Operates pro shop in absence of Golf Professional
• Other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or GED Required.
  
  

Working Conditions

• Non-Typical office environment (frequent standing, walking, talking, etc.), both inside activities and outside activities.
• Candidate must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Employee meal provided daily.
• Practice and playing privileges.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
  
  

Rate of Pay: $19-$22 per hour depending on experience.
