Job Description

 

We have an exciting new opportunity as an Assistant Executive Director (on-site) is responsible for supervising the administrative support staff of the Community Association assigned.

 

The Assistant Executive Director will also assist with oversight and support of the various departments within the Community Association including Facilities Maintenance, Building & Grounds, Lifestyle, Public Works and Parcel Management. The Assistant Executive Director is the liaison to the lead Executive Director and residents primarily, but will also interact with vendors, board members and committee members.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

  • Assist with implementation of Board policy and directives within the scope of the management agreement. Works with the board on strategic initiatives, policy governance and association projects.
  • Supervise all administration staff at the community.
  • Assist with employee hiring, training, supervising, and performance management.
  • Assist with preparing schedules and establishes priorities for routine and special work projects.
  • Assist with annual budget.
  • Assist with the administration of the various functions of the community within the projected and approved operating budget.
  • Act as a liaison between the Board of Directors and residents in the execution of the established policies and the conveyance of resident grievances.
  • Work as a liaison between the Board and legal counsel, as well as the Board and the Board Advisory Committees.
  • Once employed work toward Community Association Institute certification(s)
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and other modern information technology tools.
  • Knowledge of communities/property/real estate and homeowners associations.
  • Knowledge of the role of the association board, the Community Association Manager, and how those roles interface with the requests of homeowners.
  • Proficient in typical business correspondence (grammar, structure, punctuation, spelling, etc.).
  • Proficient in conflict resolution or mediation techniques.
  • Professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.).
  • Professional customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented and a team player.
  • Time management and time critical prioritization skills.

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • BA/BS
  • 5 years experience at supervisory level in government, industry, or housing association
