Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Assistant Accounting Manager is responsible for providing financial analysis, preparing financial statements and reports, and ensuring compliance with internal and external accounting regulations. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, and a desire to drive the company's financial success. The successful candidate must be highly organized, meticulous, and possess strong communication and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting. 
Supports change management by understanding and addressing impacts of new accounting policies, financial statement initiatives and non-standard transactions in accordance with GAAP. 
Review and analyze general ledger accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies or variances. 
Investigates daily variances and corrected errors to resolve discrepancies. 
Monitor cash flow for payables and ensure prompt collections of receivables. 
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and recommend enhancements to mitigate financial risks. 
Assist our external advisors in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and other applicable taxes. 
Serves as the first line of support for Accounting Manager, and examines posted transactions, such as funds received and disbursed. 
Oversee the general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closings for clients. 
Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes. 

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration
5 years of experience in accounting and financial management
Knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP and IFRS
Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel and accounting software
Specialization in Finance – General/Cost Accounting or equivalent preferred
Experience with financial reporting requirements
