Job Description

The Accounts Receivable/Cash Applications analyst is responsible for processing all check payments received at our corporate office and assisting the corporate AR team. This is a corporate accounting support position in a fast-paced centralized accounting services environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process all types of payments (Checks – ACH) in a timely manner.
  • File all payments received in a timely manner.
  • Research for non-recognized payments.
  • Coordinate with the branches to provide the GL code / account number to post the payments.
  • Report & escalate all non-recognized payments to supervisor & Manager.
  • Coordinate with AR team to help & assist in posting ACH.
  • Assist Controllers to close the month by providing the required information/copy of payments to reconcile the bank & close it successfully.
  • Ensure all payments are posted to the accurate account.
  • Process billing files and other ad hoc tasks as requested.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • 2-3+ years' experience in accounts receivable and cash applications

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in a multi-entity accounting environment
  • Experienced and proficient in Microsoft Dynamics AX (formerly Microsoft Axapta), Microsoft Dynamics 365, or similar ERP system

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to professionally communicate (listening, written, and verbal skills) both internally and externally with individuals at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to research, analyze, and interpret numeric data and produce results within critical turnaround times
  • Ability to learn quickly and demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision or in a team setting; flexible, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced business environment
  • Skilled in being a self-motivating, analytical, and proactive team player
  • Exceptional customer service, communication and time management skills able to accurately perform calculations and analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and alpha-numeric data entry
  • Knowledge and skilled in proper applicable accounting principles, practices, and procedures (US GAAP)
