Job Description

 

The Dartmouth Group is currently seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable Customer Service Specialist to join our team. You will report directly to the accounts receivable manager for a successful property management company. We are looking for someone who can multi-task, is extremely detail-oriented and is able to work in a team environment. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for basic accounts receivable tasks and providing excellent customer service to our clients.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Handle a large volume of incoming calls and emails from our clients
  • Communicate with clients about billing or payment discrepancies and other questions relating to their accounts
  • Provide support to department managers regarding billing disputes and work with the manager on a solution
  • Post and deposit checks through remote deposit scanner daily
  • Post charges and credits to client accounts
  • Process late fees following a schedule throughout the month and send notices using our third party vendor
  • Initiate collections process on past-due accounts
  • Process returned payments and notify owners in writing
  • Maintain changes to client database such as homes changing hands, monthly charges, contact information, etc.
  • Handle general office tasks such as scanning, shredding, mailing correspondence
  • Performs other functions as assigned

 

Requirements

 

  • College degree preferred or more than 2 years of experience working in an accounting environment
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Commitment to excellent customer service and support
  • Knowledge of basic accounting concepts including the ability to read and understand a client ledger
  • Communicate effectively with team members using written and verbal communication
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Multi-task and prioritize assignments
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
