Job Description

FirstService Residential is seeking an Accounts Receivable Coordinator to join our client accounting team! Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Process a variety of tenant charges, credits and payments for a portfolio of 40+ residential buildings.
  • Work together with properties’ financial analysts, accounts payable and client payroll departments to ensure cash management of properties is accurate and properly reported.
  • Review and monitor all account receivables for the assigned portfolio of properties.
  • Post all ClickPay lockbox payments and checks received from tenant’s account into the appropriate accounting software.
  • Post checks, receipts, and other income received from residents.
  • Process all building security deposits and monthly late fees.
  • Work closing with residential closing department to obtain necessary documents regarding change of unit ownership.
  • Process and enter change of unit ownership via Yardi and FSRConnect.
  • Process and upload resident charges and credits into accounting system.
  • Assist property management with all tenant inquiries regarding tenant accounts and rent statements.
  • Respond to emails and phone inquiries in regards to all tenant and maintenance/credit questions, issues, and concerns.
  • Complete special projects for both clients and managers as assigned by the accounts receivable manager.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferably accounting or finance.
  • Two (2) + years of relevant accounts receivable experience, preferably in the residential management sector preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with a high work load volume while also knowing when to ask for help and ask questions when the information is unfamiliar.
  • ClickPay experience preferred.
  • Windows knowledge a plus.
  • Yardi Voyager experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills is a must.
  • A high level of energy and a strong bias to service excellence and getting things done with a sense of urgency.
  • Possesses personal and professional integrity.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Diligent and self-motivated.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • A self-starter who leads by example and who is respected by all levels of employees.
