Homeside Properties, an Associa Company, is now hiring an Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team located in Alpharetta, GA.We are looking for energetic, flexible professionals who want to make a long-lasting career with a company that leads the community association management industry. The Accounting Manager is responsible for gathering, analyzing, verifying, and the reporting of financial information. The Accounting Manager is responsible for hiring, training, and supervising the accounting staff, as well as enforcing corporate company policies, rules, and procedures. The Accounting Manager is responsible for and will oversee certain financial objectives such as preparing and regulating annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, and beginning corrective actions when budget problems occur. This position will keep track of corporate financial status by closely monitoring revenue, expenses, and future budget changes while evaluating financial data, and prepare reports on finances. The Accounting Manager may help guide other departments by applying observations and recommendations to their financial operations. The Accounting Manager also helps the company avoid legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation, enforcing certain financial regulations, and recommending new, efficient procedures.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Manage the daily activities of the accounting department.
  • Coordinate client tax preparation with association’s CPA.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures relating to financial management, budget, and accounting.
  • Maintains general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, accounts analysis and reconciliation, closing books monthly, balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, and setting up new accounts.
  • Performs bank reconciliations monthly, verifying all deposits, and addressing questions and problems from corporate banking institutions.
  • Assists in preparation of monthly financial reports to include preparation of monthly balance sheet and income statement.
  • Oversee the posting and maintenance of general ledger accounts, accounts payable and general ledger adjustments.
  • Provide financial analysis statements including monthly balance sheets, income statements, cash flows statements, and actual to budget and last year variance analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

 

Qualifications

 

  • Prior experience in the community association management industry preferred.
  • People leading experience required.
  • Knowledge of GAAP at an expert level.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) at a proficient level.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel preferred.
  • Knowledge of typical business correspondence (grammar, structure, punctuation, spelling, etc.) at a proficient level.
  • Professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.).
  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented and a team player.
  • Interpretation and completion of verbal and/or written instructions at a proficient level.
  • Confidentiality and discretion in the performance of all duties and responsibilities.
  • Time management and time critical prioritization skills.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
  • Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques at a proficient level.
  • Interpret an extensive variety of financial, legal, and technical information.
  • Knowledge of operational accounting, financial requirements, accounting requirements, and business management practices.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • CPA preferred
  • 5 – 8 years of directly related or closely related experience
  • 3 – 5 years of Management and/or Supervisory experience
