Job Description
The Manager of Operations Accounting is responsible for preparing and overseeing the accurate and timely completion of the monthly close of approximately 56 branches in accordance with US GAAP; and preparing related analyses and account reconciliations. The Manager oversees a staff of approximately 8 senior accountants who are located onshore and offshore. The manager is responsible for hiring, training, and coaching subordinates, as well as enforcing corporate company policies, rules, and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present timely and accurate financial updates to senior management
- Prepare and oversee the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information in accordance with US GAAP
- Prepare and oversee the proper reconciliation of general ledger accounts, including the resolution of issues/outstanding items
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of recurring and ad-hoc analyses
- Oversee the monthly close process of the lease accounting software (another department is responsible for entering leases into the lease software)
- Prepare and oversee the timely completion of information requests from external auditors
- Manage the daily activities of the department.
- Hire, develop, retain, train, mentor and direct high-performing team members in a manner that promotes trust and collaboration
- Demonstrate leadership and management in a manner that positively motivates and supports company values, policies and ethical procedures
- Develop, implement and improve internal controls, policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting, account reconciliations, and fixed asset rollforwards
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamic 365 and OneStream a plus
- Experience with accounting integrations and system conversions a plus
- Strong professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.)
- Highly motivated, proactive, detail oriented and a team player that works well in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively work with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think critically in fast-paced environments
- Able to clearly communicate difficult accounting issues
- Confidentiality and discretion in the performance of all duties and responsibilities
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Masters Degree preferred
- At least 7 years of accounting experience
- At least 3 years of Management and/or Supervisory experience preferred
- CPA preferred
